There should be a whole new referendum for five of America's territories on what their status should be. As we all know, Puerto Rico has been arguing about their status for a long time, and the past two referendums show that the territory is evenly split about the decision of becoming a state. The recent Vieques issue may have changed this. In Guam, there is growing support for achieving commonwealth status like Puerto Rico and its nearby neighbors, the Mariana Islands. America Samoa and the U.S. Virgin Islands should also be considered. Please allow a new referendum in the territories of Puerto Rico, Mariana Islands, Guam, American Samoa, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Ask them if they want to continue their current status, become a commonwealth (if they aren't already), become a state, or become independent nations.
