Today, we face a problem that could have been prevented with an ounce of effort, but will have to be cured with a pound, and that problem is energy shortages. From the brownouts now occurring all over the country to the rolling blackouts threatening to spread from California all over the West, the inherent flaws in our current capacity to power America are becoming painfully obvious. Thus, I offer this suggestion: increase the number of nuclear reactors in this country by 50% in the next 10 years. Dumping the already used but still dangerous uranium is a problem, and it is still a pressing issue, but we have the technology and resources to safely and securely rid ourselves of these problematic substances. Paranoia and fear of meltdowns should not impede the solving of a problem that threatens to cripple our nation. Thank you.
