When the U.S. Supreme Court handed the Presidency to George W. Bush, it was a clear demonstration that election reform is needed. The Constitution should be amended to allow the election of the President to be based on a popular vote and not by the outdated Electoral College. Additionally, an amendment should be approved to allow for a re-vote in cases of ties or ballot problems, such as those encountered in Florida. The electoral process should be taken out of the hands of the Supreme Court.
