Women's Third Age Rights

Many women have been in the house taking care of their children and husbands. When they reach the age of the empty nest, then loneliness appears, as well as regrets sometimes about not having a career and the humiliation of depending on husbands for money, health insurance and a house or an apartment. For example, my health is not very good now and I wonder how many of us are under the dictatorship of a husband who is insensitive to our needs and desires of being loved. The worst part is that fear keeps us from leaving them. We have no were to go; everything is based on the husbands' salary and therefore we have the doors to freedom closed. We have given to society our lives by raising our children and mantaining our homes, now at this age we need the help when we are in a tough situation. People say there is help but when you try to find it, it is slow, with many steps to climb and as I mentioned before, health, and mental health is not the same anymore. Espeacially abused women have a very low self esteem and little hope in life, and our society has to recognize that this problem exists in the USA, and the right help has to be there for many of us who would like to live in peace.
