It seems there has been a lot of debate over this issue. Some believe that being gay is a choice, and that is nonsense. Who in their right mind would choose to make their life harder than it already is, to have to endure torture from homophobic peers, to possibly lose the love of family, and to be subjected to violence from people that can't understand that being gay is not a choice, but rather is a small part of who the person really is? But unfortunately there are people out there who like to torture others just because they are different, and by signing this petition you are letting government know that we need hate crime legislation and enforcement of that legislation.
