Ban Federal Government Welfare Spending

It's unfair that federal tax money from taxpayers in states with low poverty rates is sent to Washington, D.C., redistributed, and sent to states with high poverty rates. Congress should ban federal government welfare spending including food stamps, unemployment benefits, Temporary Aid for Needy Families (TANF), and HUD, and each state should take care of its own people. This would save the federal government about $97 billion per year, about 5% of the budget, which would allow Congress to pass an across-the-board 5% tax rate reduction.
