Adele M. Stan

Adele M. Stan is an independent journalist who has written on the topics of politics, religion and women's issues for more than a decade. She covers politics for Working Woman magazine, and is a contributing writer to Mother Jones and a contributing editor to Ms. magazine. Her piece on election 2000, "The Year of the Working Woman," is the cover story for the November issue of Working Woman magazine, where she began her career in journalism.

Stan's writing has appeared on the op-ed pages of the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the San Francisco Chronicle and the New York Daily News, as well as in the pages of The New Republic, Ms., The Nation, The Village Voice and Mother Jones. Stan's 1996 cover story on the religious right for Mother Jones is considered by many to be the definitive magazine piece on the subject.

Stan is also the editor of the book Debating Sexual Correctness, a collection of essays on sexual politics. She has been interviewed on radio and television stations throughout the country for her writing on politics, gender issues and religious movements.
