SpeakOut.com to Acquire VoxCap.com Political Portals

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Thursday, August 10, 2000 - SpeakOut.com, America's leading non-partisan Internet activism portal, today announced a deal to acquire VoxCap.com, the oldest and most well-known public policy and community-building portal. The acquisition encompasses VoxCap's network of sites including Policy.com, VoxCap.com, IntellectualCapital.com and Congressvote.com.

This most-recent deal brings together two companies that are closely aligned. SpeakOut.com and Voxcap.com share a common mission to empower the individual through online activism. Both companies are committed to the non-partisan presentation of ideas, fostering dialog and enabling citizens to speak out and get involved in the issues that affect their lives. Founded in 1995 and often called "the NPR of the Web" and the "Yahoo of Politics", Policy.com is one of the original innovators of the Internet as a tool for public policy and debate.

The VoxCap Network is comprised of four main websites:
