Election Night & Beyond:
SpeakOut.com Reports As "America Decides"

WASHINGTON, DC - October 31, 2000 - America's leading activism Web site, SpeakOut.com, will provide special election coverage from now through Election Day 2000, highlighting breaking news and results of the presidential, Senate and House races on November 7th.

As part of the "America Decides" Activism Center at SpeakOut.com, coverage will include up-to-the minute campaign news and reports on exit polls, state-by-state electoral tallies of the presidential vote as is comes in, and results from the thirty-three senate races and the congressional races.

In the week before the election, the "America Decides" Activism Center will focus on promoting voter participation with an online discussion featuring participants from Rock the Vote and the League of Women Voters. Other special features will include 'The Top 10 Ways to Get Out the Vote' and one-on-one interviews with political activists regarding Election Day activities.

SpeakOut's "Pundit Watch" will tally predictions of political pundits from FOX, NBC, ABC, CNN and PBS as they predict the outcome of the White House race and Congressional and state races over the next week. Visitors can log on to www.SpeakOut.com to see which talking heads hit the mark and which ones missed.

SpeakOut.com also features the critically-acclaimed Presidential VoteMatch Quiz and Tax Calculator. VoteMatch has been called the most comprehensive presidential candidate selector on the Web. A user simply answers a few multiple choice questions on issues ranging from abortion to gun control and Votematch compares them to the presidential candidates, showing the user their best match, along with a description of their political philosophy.

VoteMatch is designed to give the user unbiased information on the candidate's views in an interactive format. It helps users understand the candidate's views and encourages further investigation about them. Once the candidate rankings have been created, SpeakOut provides links to get more detailed information on them.

SpeakOut's Tax Calculator provides a similar analysis of the candidates' views on tax reform and shows how their proposals may or may not affect a user's take-home pay and the effect on the nation's treasury.

After the election, Speakout.com will continue to serve America's budding activists with news and issues briefings on the hottest topics on the airwaves, from the Napster debate to the Middle-East peace process. As the Presidential Transition, Inaugural and First 100 Days pass, SpeakOut.com will be the place to be, tracking the issues and providing activism tools that allow people to become more involved in the decisions that affect their lives.
