SpeakOut.com Dial Group Projects Bush, Keyes as Clear Winners of New Hampshire Republican Debate
Bush Remains in Lead, While Keyes Gains Significant Momentum

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Janurary 26, 2000 — According to a dial group sponsored by SpeakOut.com, Texas Governor George W. Bush was the favorite in the Republican primary, but talk show host Alan Keyes was the best debater. The dial group conducted during the debate in Manchester, New Hampshire, gauged the opinions of 74 likely Democratic and Republican voters.

Dial group results show that Bush boosted his standing among likely voters in the Republican primary from 25 percent before the debate to 31 percent following. Alan Keyes also demonstrated marked improvement increasing his favorability from 20 percent before the debate to 30 percent afterwards.

"The dial group is just one more way SpeakOut.com is providing the American public with information on the issues being debated by all of the presidential candidates," said Ron Howard, Chairman and CEO, SpeakOut.com. "Our goal is to empower voters with the information they need to speak out and then provide them with the forum to do so."

Using standard methodologies, SpeakOut.com recruited 74 likely Democratic and Republican registered voters in Manchester, New Hampshire to participate in the "real-time analyzer" group to measure changing perceptions as they watched the debate. The participants registered their opinions via a hand-held dial, recording their moment-to-moment reactions to what they were seeing and hearing throughout the debate.

SpeakOut.com used various survey techniques to analyze all of the data. This analysis has been released to the media and placed on its website, www.SpeakOut.com.
