SpeakOut.com "Rolls Out" Ad Campaign in Nation's Capitol
Inline Skaters Wearing Laptops Hit the Streets of Washington in Conjunction with Network Television, Radio and Print Campaign

WASHINGTON, D.C. — February 22, 2000 — SpeakOut.com, the non-partisan Internet activism portal, rolled out its unique ad campaign with the assistance of 100 computer laptop-clad inline skatertizers. The events kick off the official launch of SpeakOut.com.

The Washington, D.C. based company is running the first phase of the advertising campaign in the nation's capital — on interactive, high-tech laptop computers worn by AdWheels "skatertizers." The inline skaters are in tech savvy style, wearing the latest feather-light HDTV technology as they hit the capital city streets aglow with SpeakOut.com images on flat screens for Washingtonians and tourists to view.

"SpeakOut.com is the twenty-first century's answer to the eighteenth century's town crier," said Ron... "Everyone needs a call to action, and in Washington, where they've heard it all before, we're using a call that's bit unusual. Through the animation displayed on the computer screens, we can reach citizens, very personally and remind them that they have a powerful political voice and are not alone in the process," said Ron Howard, chairman and CEO of SpeakOut.com. The print and television ad campaign will highlight the importance of American opinion in top issues-of-the-day. Underlying every ad broadcast will be encouragement of active participation in the democratic process, government and citizenship. Full page Ads will run in premier print publications such as The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Roll Call, Congress Daily and the National Journal as well as on network television and Washington’s premier radio stations.
